It is a matter of great pride and privilege that the North East Respiratory Society (NERS) is hosting the 7th Annual Conference of Chest Council of India (CCI), i.e. CCICON 2026 in Hotel Radisson Blu, Guwahati from 25th to 27th September 2026. It is with immense pride & pleasure I welcome you all to CCICON 2026 and to Guwahati, the Gateway of North East India and holy place of Maa Kamakhya.
CCICON has always been a platform that brings together eminent Chest Physicians of National and International repute, academicians, researchers, and young pulmonologists to exchange knowledge, discuss evolving challenges, and explore innovations in respiratory medicine. This year, we are committed to making the conference more interactive, practical, and academically enriching than ever before.
The scientific programme has been thoughtfully designed to address contemporary issues in pulmonary medicine through keynote lectures, panel discussions, workshops, hands-on sessions, debates, and case-based learning. Kamakhya Temple
Kamakhya Temple is one of the most sacred and famous Hindu temples in India, located on Nilachal Hill in Guwahati. It is dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya and is counted among the important Shakti Peethas, attracting devotees from across the country. Unlike most temples, Kamakhya does not have a traditional idol. Worship is offered to a sacred natural spring inside the temple, which represents the divine feminine power and energy. This unique tradition makes the temple spiritually significant and different from others. The temple is also famous for the grand Ambubachi Mela, held every year, which celebrates the annual fertility cycle of the goddess. During this time, thousands of pilgrims and tourists visit the temple. Apart from its religious importance, Kamakhya Temple also offers a beautiful view of the Brahmaputra River and Guwahati city from the hilltop, making it both a spiritual and scenic destination.
Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular wildlife destination located near Guwahati. It is best known for having one of the highest densities of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, making it a major attraction for wildlife lovers and photographers. The sanctuary is spread across beautiful grasslands, wetlands, and marshy areas that support rich biodiversity. Along with rhinos, visitors can also spot wild buffaloes, deer, and a wide variety of migratory and resident birds, making it a great place for bird watching and nature exploration. Jeep safari is the main way to explore Pobitora and experience wildlife closely. The peaceful environment and scenic landscape offer a refreshing break from city life. Navagraha Temple

Umananda Island

chandubi lake
Chandubi Lake is a beautiful natural lake located near Guwahati, close to the Assam–Meghalaya border. It was formed after a major earthquake in 1897, which created a depression that later filled with water, giving birth to this scenic lake.
